Review
Ad campaign tracking is oft-overlooked, but is essential for internet marketing success.
Whether marketing through PPC search engines (such as Google or Yahoo), email lists,
ezines, or a website, it is vital for an internet marketer to know where their sales are
coming from, what campaigns are returning a profit, and what advertisements aren’t
working. This is where AdTrackZ Plus came to my attention.
Over a period of several weeks I tried various web software packages for monitoring
traffic and sales on several of my websites and affiliate marketing campaigns. Although
there are services out there that do a good job, I wanted to go with a software package
rather than a subscription service, as I didn’t want to have to deal with the recurring
costs of a subscription service. The two main products that appeared to fit the bill were
ProAnalyzer and AdTrackZ Plus.
I’m not going to say much about ProAnalyzer. The demo on their website hasn’t worked for
months. I emailed their customer support several times, but not once did they reply. These
are not good signs.
Fortunately, my experience with AdTrackZ Plus has been much more positive. AdTrackZ Plus
is currently the software of choice that I use on my revenue sites. Essentially, it is a
series of scripts that the user arranges to have installed on their web server. (If you
don’t have a website or a hosting provider, there are numerous tutorials on the web that
can help you find a decent one within your budget.) The software is easy to use while
being unusually powerful and feature-rich. Once installed, AdTrackZ Plus let's you see
where all your traffic is coming from. It then automatically analyzes the return on
investment (ROI) of your traffic sources so that you can focus your time on campaigns that
are making money, and either correct or drop those that are not. Some of the features
provided by AdTrackZ Plus include:
- Ability to track visits, sales, and conversions for PPC, exit pop-ups, banner ads, text
ads, and more
- Ability to track when an email recipient on your mailing list has opened their email
- Cost per click and cost per sale data for every keyword in your pay-per-click campaigns
- URL encryption for protection from commission thieves. If you are involved in affiliate
marketing AdTrackZ Plus allows you to convert your affiliate URL to your own domain name,
while still maintaining the affiliate id tracking information in a "behind the scenes"
manner, invisible to end-users.

Summary
In short, this is the most powerful, easy-to-use, and affordable tracking software program
I have tested to date, with an impressive array of features. The only drawback, which for
most Internet marketers isn't a problem, is that it needs to run on a Unix web server
running PHP 4 (or higher) and MySQL.
